Our History - Martha Sue's Milestones in B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf
  • 1972: And So It Begins: Founder, Martha Sue Yeary, begins the journey in learning to play golf at age 24.
  • 1988: A Hole Lot of Success- Martha Sue qualifies for the 2nd Mid-Amateur Tournament as she places 2nd against 140 people.
  • 1989: Expanding the Greens: Martha Sue is forever inspired by Judy Dies, a lady who suffered a stroke that debilitated her golf game. While spending her warm-up time at the Ladies State Amature Tournament with Judy, Martha Sue finds a whole new mission to fill the greens with disabled golfers.
  • 1989: More Good To Come: Morris Goodman, the "Miracle Man," was injured in a plane crash and not expected to walk, talk or breath again. He overcomes all odds as he works with Martha Sue.
  • 1990: Swinging into Action: B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf is officially born as a non-profit organization that provides students with disabilities adaptive golf instruction.
  • 1995: Spreading the Knowledge: B.I.O.N.I.C Golf works in conjunction with ADAG (Association of Disabled American Golfers) to raise awareness through hosting tournaments.
  • 1996: Martha Sue becomes a member of the LPGA, Teaching & Club Professional Division.
  • 2000: Martha Sue teaches clinics with students from the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for children.
  • 2002: Putting Around the U.S.A: B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf Cross-Country Training Tour Kicks Off! Martha Sue travels by school bus with insufficient funds to 100+ sites in 8 months to teach disabled golfers.
  • 2003: New Life Skill Tour in Flordia: Martha travels by bus through Florida and teaches clinics in nine cities.
  • 2005: Slam Dunk Meets Hole in One: Martha Sue speaks at every civic group in Florida to raise a level of awareness about "Night at the Magic," a fundraiser to give B.I.O.N.I.C Golf participants free tickets to an Orlando Magic basketball game and a complimentary golf clinic with Martha Sue.
  • 2006: Alternative to More Greens - B.I.O.N.I.C Golf Expands: In order to support the unfunded non-profit organization, B.I.O.N.I.C Golf Pro is created as a for-profit company. With investors' support, B.I.O.N.I.C Golf Pro produces teaching manuals, videos and virtual golf schools generating funds for the non-profit. B.I.O.N.I.C Golf Pro's long term vision encompasses indoor training facilities with the B.I.O.N.I.C Golf leaning system as its core. All facilities will be totally accessible for B.I.O.N.I.C Golf students with disabilities and national franchising creates sustainability for the non-profit organization.
  • 2008: B.I.O.N.I.C Golf joins the Social Enterprise Institute.
  • 2008: Drive it Home: B.I.O.N.I.C Golf secures at SailHo Golf Course as its official home!
